One of the world’s most sought after guest teachers, Yannick Boquin, walks us through various ways in which we hold onto the barre and how it effects the technique of the dancer. Featuring Karina González, Principal Dancer with Houston Ballet.

Yannick Boquin received his dance education at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the National Conservatoire of Paris. He danced as a principal dancer with Bonn Opera Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Rome Opera Ballet and Deutsche Oper Berlin. He worked as a Ballet Master with the Vienna Opera Ballet from 2004 until 2006. Currently, Mr. Boquin travels around the globe guest teaching for the world’s most prestigious ballet companies, including Dresden SemperOper Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, Royal Swedish Ballet, Royal Ballet of Flanders, Norwegian National Ballet, Houston Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, National Ballet of Prague, National Ballet of Portugal, Stanislavski Theater Moscow, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Bolshoï theater Moscow, Bucharest Opera, National Ballet of Korea, Hong Kong Ballet, West Australian Ballet, Zurich Ballet, Academie Princesse Grace de Monaco, San Francisco Ballet School, Summer course Centre Ecole Superieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower and Houston Ballet Academy.
