Marjorie Thompson had the good fortune to be in the New York City Ballet during the years that Mr. Balanchine taught the daily morning class. This class represents some of her memories of how Mr. B wanted his dancers to execute their class work.
Marjorie’s class contains a complete barre and center, along with comprehensive explanations of the steps and the reasoning behind the style in which they are executed. Since music is such an integral part of any good ballet class, the music used in this class video is available for download making it effortless to replicate Marjorie’s combinations with your own students.
